This section explains the hard- and software requirements and possibilities for running Overtone Analyzer. We will look at the different choices of computer hardware and operating system. Further, the audio equipment that could be used with OA will be explored. In particular, this refers to microphones, sound cards, and MIDI devices.
Where audio equipment is discussed, it will be from the point of view of getting a cost-effective solution for recording sounds with Overtone Analyzer for the purpose of spectrum analysis and interactive voice training. It won't address the needs of the recording engineer or audio professional, who may find more in-depth treatment of their needs elsewhere.
