You have learned the basics of how<br \/>\n      to record and visualize sounds with <span class=\"application\">VoceVista Video Pro<\/span> and had an introduction to the basic features and interface elements of the program. The main steps to<br \/>\n      remember are:<\/p>\n<div class=\"itemizedlist\">\n<ul class=\"itemizedlist\" style=\"list-style-type: disc; \">\n<li class=\"listitem\">\n<p>Select the microphone to be used by right-clicking on the Input Volume control on the toolbar.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listitem\">\n<p><span class=\"guimenuitem\">Ctrl-Space<\/span> starts the recording. <span class=\"guimenuitem\">Space<\/span> will start playback or stop the current recording or playback.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listitem\">\n<p>Always monitor the input volume  during recording to prevent<br \/>\n      clipping.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listitem\">\n<p>Use the pointer on the Frequency Scale and Time Scale for scrolling and zooming. Click<br \/>\n          &amp; drag to scroll; use the mouse wheel or the <span class=\"keycap\"><strong>1<\/strong><\/span> and<br \/>\n            <span class=\"keycap\"><strong>2<\/strong><\/span> keys for zooming.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listitem\">\n<p>The Long-term view shows a time range with the Spectrogram and\/or fundamental pitch. The Short-term view shows a detailed close-up of the time where the cursor is in the Long-term view.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listitem\">\n<p>Make a time selection by clicking and dragging on the Spectrogram while pressing the<br \/>\n            <span class=\"keycap\"><strong>Command<\/strong><\/span> key on Mac, or the <span class=\"keycap\"><strong>Control<\/strong><\/span> key on PC. The<br \/>\n          selection will be played in a loop if looping is enabled. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"listitem\">\n<p>The Spectrum shows the intensity (or volume) of the individual frequency components of a sound.
