You can also modify existing<br \/>\n      colormaps or create your own.<\/p>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-71-ControlPointEditor\"><\/a>Control Point Editor<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The colored field on the left shows which colors represent a given<br \/>\n      intensity level. Colors are interpolated between the existing control<br \/>\n      points. This can be used after you have changed the<br \/>\n      number of control points and want them to be evenly spread.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-71-Interpolatecolors\"><\/a>Interpolate colors<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>If this is checked, the colors between the control points will be<br \/>\n      smoothly interpolated. This will invert the appearance of the spectrogram and can be useful when trying out new color schemes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-71-DisplayedDynamicRange\"><\/a>Displayed Dynamic Range<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This is the range of intensities represented by the colormap. The<br \/>\n      intensities are measured in decibels (dB). A value of 0dB corresponds to<br \/>\n      the loudest possible sine wave that can be represented by the selected<br \/>\n      audio format. With a recording bit depth of 16 bits per sample, it is<br \/>\n      theoretically possible to represent a dynamic range of 96dB. However, on<br \/>\n      the spectrogram it is often better to limit the shown dynamic range to<br \/>\n      reduce the amount of displayed noise. The dynamic range sliders can also<br \/>\n      be found on the toolbar and are useful for adjusting the displayed<br \/>\n      dynamic range on the fly to get the best contrast on the<br \/>\n      spectrogram.<br \/>\n      The best way to understand those sliders is to play with both of them.<\/p>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-71-DynamicRangeTopLevelBrightness\"><\/a>Dynamic Range Top Level (Brightness)<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This slider adjusts the top level (or saturation value) of the displayed<br \/>\n      dynamic range. In the displayed spectrogram or spectrum, all values with<br \/>\n      an intensity above the value of this slider will be displayed as maximum<br \/>\n      intensity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-71-DisplayedDynamicRangeContrast\"><\/a>Displayed Dynamic Range (Contrast)<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This determines the width or spread of the displayed dynamic range. A<br \/>\n      large value will show more detail at the expense of clarity, and a small<br \/>\n      value will make the stronger intensity values stand out more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-71-Usecurrentpeak\"><\/a>Use current peak<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>If this option is enabled, the colormap top will be set to the loudest<br \/>\n      sample of the currently loaded audio file. Disable this option to set the<br \/>\n      top value manually.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-71-LinkedUIColors\"><\/a>Linked UI Colors<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This tab will bring up a window similar to the Fonts and Colors editor. However, all changes<br \/>\n      made here are local to the current colormap. For example, the background<br \/>\n      color of the spektrum is normally determined by the global color scheme.<br \/>\n      With the &#8216;Linked UI Colors&#8217; feature, you can change the background<br \/>\n      locally, for example to white.
